Last April 14 we met our small goddaughter Nyoman MARTINI. When, for the first time, I saw the frail silhouette in her small gray skirt and too large tongs, I felt very moved. Her beautiful black eyes filled with tenderness and her small, soft voice are engraved in my heart. I will never be able to forget this small girl and I understand why Christine, Dwi and all the ANAK team launched this marvellous adventure. Meeting with the children and their families gives quite a different dimension to sponsorship and creates a very strong bond.
In the afternoon, the children of the village came to join us in the street and Annie and Marta, our 2 improvised and favorite clowns, provided very successful entertainment. It was brilliant!!! The children were so happy. They played, danced, and especially sung in French for hours (even their Mayor sang!!!! Try to make your Mayor sing????) It was true happiness to share these moments with them. They are really astonishing and have such a thirst to learn. In the evening, when everyone was exhausted, we found them in the trees still singing "Miller you sleep” – insatiable. |
These 4 days spent in AMED with Christine, Marta, Dwi, the ANAK team and Annie were rich in emotion and will remain our most valuable memory of BALI. People whom we met welcomed us with open arms sharing the little they had.
But these moments of joy should not let us forget that these children and their families often have a difficult life (lack of money, food, care, the children have to walk a long and difficult way to school every day) and that the financial support of ANAK members is essential. They need you and sincerely deserve to be helped and loved!
ONCE AGAIN CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU TO ALL ANAK TEAM MEMBERS FOR THE GREAT WORK ACHIEVED IN THE VILLAGES (you should see the illuminated faces of the children when the team arrive) and thanks to you, we enjoyed unique and unforgettable moments. The children deserve all our support. |
